Selwyn Schools’ Waste Art Exhibition
August 26 @ 10:00 am – August 27 @ 4:00 pm
An art exhibition that will challenge the way we look at waste.
About this event
All art pieces from this year’s Selwyn Schools’ Waste Art Competition will be showcased. The exhibits will be open for viewing from 10 am on Saturday, August 26th, and will continue to be free to view until after the awards ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, August 27th at 1 pm.
We are honoured to have Deputy Mayor Malcolm Lyall join us in celebrating all entries. Deputy Mayor Lyall will present the awards at 1 pm on Sunday, recognising the talents of our artistic students that have transformed waste into exceptional artworks.
This exciting and enjoyable competition, launched in 2021, has had an outstanding response with over thirty incredible artworks displayed last year of an exceptional standard. We’re excited and hope to see the same level of enthusiasm and excellence this year.
For our talented young artists, this competition isn’t just an opportunity to showcase their skills—it’s a chance to make a difference. Each piece tells a story of transformation, whilst also giving insight into the different views on household waste.
We extend an invitation to all to come and view some wonderful and interesting art over the weekend. You can be part of an event that not only redefines waste but also makes us think about our impact on the world around us.
See you at the exhibition!
