People will be on hand at Te Ara Ātea, Rolleston Library to assist with repairing an assortment of household items and machinery. So keep those ageing or broken items in order to give them a new lease of life!

Ecotech Services
Ecotech Services is a technology repair, recycling, and sales company based in Christchurch. Alan Liefting, the Managing Director, has over 30 years experience in repairing a wide range of electrically powered items.
Fix ur ride
Providing, service, maintenance and assembly to all kind of bikes: mtb, road, big or small, new or old
Esteban is a qualified mechanic with years of experience in bike repairs.
Warren Agencies
Local jeweller and repairs are a big part of their business, whether it’s a re-glue, re-thread, re-knot, sizing rings, remakes, claws, re-rhodium and valuing …. the list goes on. They can change watch batteries and straps and other watch related repairs.
Sewing & General Repairs
We also have several volunteers bringing along sewing machines for your fabric repairs.
General repairers will also be on hand with volunteers from the Mens Shed.

A basic workshop on pruning and caring.
We are pleased to once again obtain the services of Liz Willis, who comes from a long line of keen gardeners. She has completed the two-year Organic Horticulture course at the Biological Husbandry Unit at Lincoln University. Now she looks after the gardens and grounds at the BHU, and her own developing garden.
A gold coin donation to support the activities of the Gardens will be appreciated.

Compost improves your garden’s soil structure, texture, aeration, increases the soil’s water-holding capacity and is a great alternative to commercial fertilisers. Composting is also a great way to get rid of your kitchen scraps and garden waste, you can make it without spending a cent.

Join Us this Easter for a Nature Hunt
The hunt starts on Easter Sunday for anything that swims, flies, grows, crawls and hides! Visit your local reserve or any natural area and see what you can find.
You will be using the iNaturalist NZ website so you need to install the iNaturalist NZ app on your mobile and focus on nature.
Join the fun and discover the nature that lives in and around your local reserve!
BioBlitz is a scientific race against time to count as many different species as you can in a 24-hour period. Throughout Easter Sunday you can become a Citizen Scientist, it’s up to you whether you spend an hour or all day as a Nature Detective.
Challenge yourself to find creatures that only come out early in the morning or in the dark?
For all ages 1 to 100!
Instructions
What You Need
Mobile phone with camera and iNaturalist app or
Digital camera (if you don’t have a mobile phone) and computer with internet access to iNaturalist website.
Optional – pen and paper, homemade tracking tunnel, hand lens, binoculars.
How
Some of the things you might find include:
Mammals; cats, hedgehogs, rats, possums (see how to make a tracking tunnel before Easter Sunday); plants, weeds; worms; bugs; lizards; moths. Listening and looking for birds – you can record and upload sounds on iNaturalist.
